Faridabad to get mega industrial township

An Industrial Model Township (IMT) is slated to become a reality in Faridabad soon. Coming up on 1800 acres of land near Ballabhgarh, work on this project is likely to begin next month.

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), which has acquired land for this purpose has entrusted the task of developing it to a Hyderabad based infrastructure company - Ramky Infrastructure.

“Work on infrastructure development on the IMT will start soon”, Bhagmal, General Manager, HSIIDC, Faridabad said, adding that HSIIDC has issued a letter of acceptance to Ramky Infrastructure.

The HSIIDC acquired about 1832 acres of land in villages like Chandawli, Machgar, Nawadah, Sutai and Mujedi for the purpose. “Infrastructure development will take three to four months, after which plotting will be done.” Arora said.

The minimum industrial plot will be 450 square metres and the maximum could be 10 acres.

Booking home before July may let you escape 3% Service Tax. This news appeared in the Economic Times on Friday, 5th March. Rest of the news went something like this.

Those looking to buy a house would do well to book one before July, when the new service tax levy on construction service will come into effect. The cost of flats will go up 3.3% of the total purchase consideration once service tax begins to be levied on construction.

Faridabad is in news — the industrial town nestled in the Aravali hills is on a growth highway much like Gurgaon and Noida. Faridabad has been chosen by the government under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) for improvement of urban infrastructure and has been granted Rs.2,500 crore for this purpose.

Living in Faridabad might not be such a bad idea. According to the latest draft credit ratings by the Government, civic amenities in Faridabad are far better than some bigger and more popular cities like Agra, Meerut, Dehradun, Amritsar, Haridwar and Shimla.

The credit rating of 46 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) spread across 19 Indian cities - initiated by the Union Urban Development ministry (UDM) under its flagship Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) - is being carried out to assess the credit worthiness of municipalities in different cities.
